The Mount Moriah Volunteer Fire Department is located in the Town of Mount Moriah on the beautiful west coast of Newfoundland & Labrador. Our department provides fire and emergency services to the approximately twenty (20) square kilometer town which consists of approximately three hundred (300) homes and about eight hundred (800) residents.
Our department is made up strictly of all volunteers who give their time endlessly to provide adequate services to our community. Many community services only survive because of these volunteers whose contributions enrich our community, make us more resilient and help define our character. Also, the support of the residents is something that helps the department immensely.
Volunteer Fire Departments have a special uniqueness. There are not many groups that require their volunteers to put down their pens, tools or children, day or night and rush off to put themselves in danger to protect others. If you feel like you would be a great addition to our department, please get in contact with us. We meet every Monday night at 7 PM at our fire hall located on Serpentine Road.

Mount Moriah Events Inc. (MME) is a non-profit volunteer organization whose purpose is to organize and carry out a come home year celebration in the summer of 2020. It is our purpose to unite the families and friends, near and far, of Mount Moriah and surrounding areas in camaraderie and create an unbreakable sense of community with its people. MME will connect all corners of our community from young to old and foster the growth of a tight knit society that works together for the enrichment of all.
MME works alongside of the other organizations in our town to achieve its goal of community enhancement. However, without the untiring dedication of its volunteers none of this would be possible. If you would like to join our team please feel free to contact us through email or via the Mount Moriah Events Facebook page. New members are always welcome.
PLEASE NOTE:
Due to the current pandemic, the Come Home Year Celebrations that were scheduled for August 2020 had to be postponed. All funds raised have been put into trust with the Town of Mount Moriah and will be used for future Come Home Year Celebrations.
